China’s 10 Airports Win Top Positions in World's Best Airports 2015

China’s 10 airports have won top positions in the World’s 100 Best Airports for 2015.The raking was based on voting by air travelers, this was revealed at the 2015 World Airport Awards, held at Passenger Terminal EXPO in Paris, France.

Beijing Capital Airport clinched 10th position in the list of 100 Best Airports.

Hong Kong Intl Airport 4th Position

Besides mainland China, Hon King Intl Airport secured 4th position in the World’s 100 Best Airports.

Hong Kong is a global business and trade center and its International Airport (HKIA) is a gateway for regional and global destinations from Mainland China to rest of Asia and the world. More than 100 airlines operate flights from the airport to over 180 cities across the globe. In 2014, HKIA handled 63.3 million passengers, making it the 10th busiest airport worldwide by passenger traffic.

Beijing Capital Airport, serving as the most important transportation hub and port of entry, has earned top ranking in the world's busiest airports in the past decade. It was the world's second busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic from 2010-2013 and as of March 1, 2014 it was the second-busiest airport in the world in 2014.

Shanghai’s two airports toped in the ranking of World's 100 Best Airports for 2015; Shanghai Hongqiao at 31st position and Shanghai Pudong airport stood at 90th position.

Chengdu Intl Airport 50th Position

Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport secured 50th placement in World’s Best Airports for 2015.

Haikou Meilan International Airport operating in the capital city-Haikou- stood at 53rd position adding prestige to the city famous for tourism.

Guangzhou's Baiyun International Airport stood at 66 positions in the World’s Best Airports for 2015.

Shenzhen Intl Airport got 72th position

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport got 74th positions the World’s Best Airports for 2015.

Shenzhen, a neighbouring city of Hong Kong , is one of the most successful Special Economic Zones (SEZ). Shenzhen is a city of vibrant economy, modern cityscape, a major global financial center in southern dubbed as China's Silicon Valley due to this high concentration of technology companies.

Shenzhen International Airport offers greater connectivity to South Asia, Central and East and West Asia.

Xi'an Intl Airport 74th position

Xian, located in central-northwest China, is the capital of Shaanxi province. Xi'an is also the starting point of the Silk Road and home to the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang.

Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, operating in this cultural and historic city of Xian got 74th position in the world ranking.

In 2014, the airport handled 30,040,654 passengers, making it the busiest airport in northwest China and the 8th busiest nationwide.

Sanya Phoenix Intl Airport 83rd Position


Sanya Phoenix International Airport stood at 72nd position in the world ranking.
Sanya, a beautiful coastal city located on the southernmost tip of Hainan Province is famous for excellent harbors and beaches. It is also named the 'South Gate of China.

In 2014, Sanya Airport was the 19th busiest airport in China in terms of passengers besides playing a vital part in bringing tourists into Sanya.

China was the only one country in the list the World’s 100 Best Airports 2015 whose 9 airports were secured place in the list.

This success of China’s provincial and city level airports indicates how Chinese government is seriously determined to develop sophisticated transport and communication system in the country by pouring heavy investment and adding modern technology to the airport facilities.

International services and modern facilities at Chinese airports is another amazing fact and great achievement by the metropolitans’ of the World’s second largest economy- China, operating the driving engine of world economy.

6 Asian Airports among World’s Top 10 Airports 2015

Besides Singapore’s Changi Intl Airport, Korea’s Incheon Intl Airport, Hong Kong Intl, Japans’, Tokyo, Central Japan Intl were also among the Top 10 Best Airports of the World.

The interesting fact of this ranking is that Asia’s six airports were included in the Top 10 Best Airports the World indicating the changing trends of economic flow towards the Asia emerging as new center of global connectivity, trade, and technology.

The ranking of the world's Top 100 Airports 2015 was measured based on the voting by airline customers around the world during the 9-month survey period.

This airport ranking is considered a global benchmark for the airport excellence.
